    In response to member demand BCCIC's Exectuive Director, Mike Simpson will be hosting a webinar that will cover "How to Survive a Global Affairs Canada Audit". Having survived multiple GAC audits while running his own NGO, One Sky, Mike will be sharing the tips and best practices he learned in order to ensure your non-profit can pass a GAC audit with the least hassle possible. The webinar will cover:
    • Administrative and financial must haves to ensure you are prepared to survive a GAC audit.
    • Key record keeping considerations for GAC audits.
    • Tips for avoiding the most common mistakes that will lead to audit troubles.
    • What to expect during the audit itself and how to help it go as smoothly as possible.
    Facilitator Bio: Michael Simpson is the Executive Director of the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC). Prior to working for BCCIC, Michael was the Executive Director of One Sky – The Canadian Institute for Sustainable Living. His work with One Sky varied from leading major bilateral projects in West Africa including Nigeria and Sierra Leone to working in Latin America on projects ranging from forest conservation to leadership development. Simpson was an active voice for Canadian civil society at international forums ranging from the World Summit on Sustainable Development to UN meetings on renewable energy.

    Do you ever feel overwhelmed juggling your responsibilities of work, studying, raising children, staying fit, volunteering and the list goes on?In our fast paced world, we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves; give yourself a break and join us for a relaxing yoga session incorporating the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals! All are welcome from beginners to experts.GECCO with the aid of Global Affairs Canada, is hosting "Self-Care for World-Care: Yoga for the Global Goals" with the desire to provide a space for the Okanagan community to help achieve self-care while learning about the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. The yoga practice will be led by Okanagan-based yoga teacher, Tamara McLellan, who has specifically designed this yoga practice to benefit everyone- from beginners to experts, and everyone in between.There will also be a door-prize that includes a beautiful, eco-friendly yoga mat from Mantra Mats!Tea and chocolates from Globally Fair will be served.We would love to know if you are coming.
