COLOMBIA CARBONO : Special Notice
USAID/Colombia seeks comments during the design phase of an anticipated Activity to support Colombia in the implementation of its Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Uses (AFOLU) related climate change mitigation goals, while strengthening community-based sustainable development initiatives in the context of a post peace agreement scenario.
The following are the objectives of the Activity:
- Reduced carbon emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in the Choco region, generating a sustainable income revenue stream for Afro-Colombian and indigenous communities that are part of the USAID/Bioredd+ portfolio.
- Reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from high Andean ecosystems (paramo, high altitude wetlands and high Andean forest (bosque alto andino), while improving the long-term water yield of high Andean ecosystems
- Enhance GoC’s capacity to achieve Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) in Agriculture, Forestry and Other land use (AFOLU).
Given the critical nature of the activity, we’re reaching out to you, our potential respondents, to get comments/suggestions on the attached draft portion of the Statement of Work (SOW).
