Open Call for Youth to Sit on Delegate Selection Committee

BCCIC is putting out two calls to help us put together our Delegation to the COP 23 Climate Conference in Bonn, Germany in November 2017. We are seeking 2 youth to sit on the delegation (deadline to apply is July 14th) and 5 youth to sit on the delegate selection committee (deadline to express interest is July 7th).

Overview

The committee will be meeting under a very tight deadline to self-select for 1-2 youth delegates to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 23) held in Bonn, Germany between 6-17 November 2017. Youth applying to this committee will forfeit their ability to apply for the delegate selection itself and must sign a conflict of interest policy document in order to participate. There is no compensation for this opportunity other than deep appreciation from the network.

Eligibility

The youth on this committee will be between the ages of 18 and 24 inclusively and must be a resident of the Province of British Columbia. Candidates must have either attended at least one international conference held by the United Nations or an organization under the UN system, or be deeply involved with an organization, campus club or a project relating to sustainable development, climate action, youth engagement or government/civil society advocacy.

Application Process

Interested youth are asked to step forward by emailing Jeffrey Qi, BCCIC Youth Engagement Coordinator before Friday 7th July 2017 23:59 PST at jeffrey.intern@bccic.ca
