Lunch & Learn

The BC Council for International Cooperation invites your participation in an exciting new series called Lunch & Learn!


Lunch & Learns are:

  • Featuring Southern voices and experience.
  • Not your typical public speaking event! 
  • A space to discuss best practices for effective development amongst peers.
  • A 15 to 20 minute presentation followed by an informal dialogue for an hour.
  • An intimate setting of 10 to 15 participants.
  • Hosted by BCCIC Members with BCCIC’s support, such as promotion, registration, space.
  • Low cost and low maintenance!  Everyone brings their own lunch and hosts provide the drinks.  Non-members pay $5.

CUSO-VSO is happy to present BCCIC members with the opportunity to discuss education and partnerships with stakeholders with one of their Ethiopian colleagues, Theodros Belew. Theodros will discuss the role of international volunteers in development and what he considers some of the best practices they have developed.

Theodros Belew is the current Director of the Teachers and Educational Leaders' Development Directorate in the Ministry of Education, Ethiopia. He has worked in education as both a teacher and a trainer for over 25 years and has recently presented his work in Japan, the DRC, the USA and China.
