Solidarity with the CCDA and the Juracán Family
The Campesino Committee of the Highlands (CCDA) has long organized for the land rights of Guatemala's indigenous majority, while producing Café Justicia, delicious coffee enjoyed at Rhizome Café and far beyond. Now, the National Coordinator of the CCDA, Leocadio Juracán, has been forced to leave Guatemala and come to Canada with his family, as a result of death threats related to the CCDA's political work.
Join us on the evening of March 11th to meet Leocadio and the rest of the Juracán family, welcome them to Vancouver, and brainstorm ways we can support them during their time here. Hear updates on the CCDA's work and related political persecution, discuss possibilities for international solidarity, and drink some Café Justicia to help keep the CCDA strong.
By donation, all to support the CCDA and the Juracan family
