Background information:
Stand Up Take Action End Poverty (SUTA), in cooperation with the EndPoverty2015 Millennium Campaign, are organizing for Stand Up 2010 to take place over three days beginning Friday, September 17th to Sunday the 19th.
On September 18th, 2010, there will be One Day of Unified Global Action: When people around the world can Make Noise for the MDGs! in anticipation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Review Summit, a High-level Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations. The Summit will be held on September 20th-22nd 2010, in New York.
Taking place all over the world, and even here on Granville Street, people will come together to “Make Noise for the MDGs!” People all over the world are encouraged to take part in a common global action that's designed to grab public, political and media attention, and to make sure that the global movement in support of the MDGs is seen and heard in every corner of the world.
