FairTrade Vancouver Be My Fair Valentine Flashmob

Sunday, February 5, 2012 - 1:00pm - 1:05pm
SPREAD THE LOVE!  For the first time ever, Fair Trade Vancouver is going to host a Flash Mob!

When: Sunday, February 5th at 1:00pm

Where: The corner of Granville and Georgia, starting by the Bay and crossing Georgia South towards Sears

Why: This Flash Mob is to launch the My Fair Valentine campaign and to create awareness around Fair Trade options versus traditional Valentines gifts. What we want you to do is show up to the area, shortly before 1pm, with something red, white or pink on. Ideally, you will have the color hidden until 1:00pm and then remove your jacket/sweater/cover to reveal your valentines colors. We will then begin to form a human chain all the way down Granville with the hopes that we have enough people to reach from the Bay to Sears, so as to distract from the stores Valentines displays. Some volunteers will be handing out valentines cards with information about fair trade and where to purchase fair trade gifts. We will have someone with a megaphone to signal the human chain and we will be asking participants to shout out "Be My Fair Valentine" to Vancouver. The Flash Mob, once everyone has been organized into a chain, will last only 5 minutes and then everyone is off on their way again!

Please respond back to confirm your attendance and if you wish to assist with the day-of organizing!
