Call for Student Interns: Conference Planning Committee

Are you interested in solving problems associated with global poverty, gender equality, food security and forced migration?

The British Columbia Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC) and a coalition of local individuals and organizations working toward the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, is planning a conference on global development themes to be held in February, 2018.

In and effort to support and create opportunities for intergenerational collaboration, we would like to invite BCCIC Members as well as any interested youth to sit on the conference planning committee and take on leadership roles. We encourage BCCIC youth members as well as students to join this committee and to serve in the following capacities:

-Finance
-Fundraising
-Conference Coordinator
-Content Coordinator and Speaker Liaison
-Administrative Assistant
-Sponsorship
-Logistics
-Marketing, Publicity and Social Media
-Volunteer Coordinator(s)
-School and Community Liaison

If you are interested in supporting this initiative in a leadership or mentorship capacity, or know any young people who would be interested in gaining experience in any of these areas while making a difference in the world, this is a great opportunity!

Please contact Catherine Douglas at Catherine.Douglas@ubc.ca to express interest or for further information.

We look forward to hearing from you,

The Working Group to End Global Poverty
The British Columbia Council for International Cooperation
