Engineers Without Borders UBC Networking Event

Saturday, Mar 25, 2017

Time: 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Engineers Without Borders UBC is dedicated to building the capacity of young leaders to drive systemic change. Our work is founded upon the belief that a more equitable and sustainable future will depend on a new generation of engaged and empowered citizens.

Please join us for an inspiring evening as we explore innovative solutions to global challenges. The evening will feature vibrant stories from the EWB community and interactive activities that will spark meaningful conversations. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and bring someone that inspires you!

The evening will be hosted by UBC’s Junior Fellows, Liam Crozier and Jory Wong. The Junior Fellowship program selects 20 of Canada’s most talented and driven young leaders to work at EWB Canada’s ventures within Canada and in sub-Saharan Africa. This year, the UBC chapter is proud to send Liam Crozier and Jory Wong to work as Junior Fellows. Liam will be working at Mining Shared Value, a Canadian-based governance program that explores and assesses local procurement practices in the mining industry. Jory will be working at LishaBora, a social enterprise based in Kiambu, Kenya that is using a vertically integrated business model to transform the way that feed products are developed and delivered to smallholder dairy farmers.
