Advanced Grantwriting Workshop – Crafting Winning Proposals

Friday, Mar 31, 2017

Time: 10:00am – 4:30pm

This workshop will delve deep into grant proposal components, focusing on the variety of approaches funders look for to articulate project needs, goals, objectives, workplans, budgets, and evaluation strategies. Bring your project ideas, proposal drafts and questions for a working session where participants will practice applying program planning and design techniques, including:

  • Creating compelling project rationales
  • Theory of Change, Logic Models, Results Based Management approaches
  • Effective use of stories, data and research
  • Evaluation and budget planning

You will have the opportunity to learn from a pro in a small group setting, and take home practical tools and resources to streamline and enhance your program planning and proposal writing efforts. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Barbara McMillan’s extensive experience as a grantor, grantee, and instructor in grantwriting provides a rich backdrop to help individuals and organizations build their capacity in grantseeking and proposal writing. Besides having assessed over 1000 grant applications, she has written many successful proposals, and has taught grantseeking for over 20 years, including the Grant and Proposal Writing Course in BCIT’s Fundraising Management Certificate Program.
